School Sounds is a simple, accessible audio editor made for schools. These terms explain what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. We have kept them as plain and friendly as we can. By using School Sounds, you agree to these terms.
School Sounds is a web-based tool for recording, editing, mixing and exporting audio. It runs entirely in your web browser. You can record from a microphone, import and combine sounds, trim and rearrange them, adjust volume and speed, and save the result as a WAV file to your device or to your own cloud storage.
All editing happens on your own device. We do not store your recordings.
School Sounds is intended for pupils, teachers and staff at schools that are authorised to use it. To use the full toolset you must sign in with a Google or Microsoft account that has been registered for access.
Access is granted to registered email addresses and school domains. When you sign in, we check your verified email against our register to confirm you are allowed in. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for use of the app under your account.
You may use School Sounds for lawful, educational and personal creative purposes. Please do not:
The sounds you create are yours. We claim no ownership of your recordings or edits. Because everything is processed on your device and we hold no copies, you keep full control of your content.
The School Sounds name, logo and software remain the property of Shuistyle.
We take privacy seriously, especially for young users. Audio from your microphone is processed only on your device and is never sent to our servers. We process your email address solely to verify access. Full details are in our Privacy and Data Handling Statement.
School Sounds is provided "as is" and "as available". While we work hard to keep it reliable, we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost recordings or data — please save your work regularly. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update School Sounds and these terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Access may be withdrawn if these terms are breached, or if a school's authorisation ends. You may stop using School Sounds at any time. Because your recordings live on your own device or cloud account, they remain with you.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms are between you and Shuistyle.
Schools using School Sounds act as the data controller for accounts they provide to pupils. Schools are responsible for supervising use, managing which accounts are authorised, and guiding pupils on saving and sharing audio responsibly.
