Everything you need to make sound

Simple enough for a Year 2 podcast, capable enough for a whole-class composition.

Record anything

Sing, speak, clap or play an instrument straight into the browser. Every recording becomes its own track, and you can record from more than one input at a time.

Play tracks together

Stack tracks and play them at once like a band. Each one has its own volume and speed, and its own switch for whether it joins in.

Trim, copy and paste

Mark part of a track and cut it, keep only that part, copy it somewhere else or save just that piece as its own file. Undo is always there if it goes wrong.

Sound libraries built in

Search Freesound and Pixabay from inside the app and drop a bird call, a door slam or a drum loop straight onto a new track.

Save, export and go back

Sign in with a school Google or Microsoft account to keep projects in the cloud, export a finished WAV, and use version history to return to how it sounded earlier.

Built for every pupil

Full keyboard control, screen reader labels on every tool, large touch targets, and a plain-English tip card on each button explaining what it does.

Ready to make some noise?

The editor opens straight away in your browser. No download, no account needed to start.

Launch School Sounds

How it works

Four steps from an empty page to a finished piece.

Open the app

Click "Launch School Sounds". It opens instantly in your browser - there is nothing to install and nothing to set up.

Bring in sound

Record with a microphone, open a sound file from the device, or search the built-in libraries for the sound you want.

Edit and layer

Mark the part you want, trim it, move it, and set how loud and how fast each track plays alongside the others.

Save or export

Keep the project so you can carry on next lesson, or export one WAV file to hand in, play in assembly or drop into a video.
