What is Version History?

Version History keeps snapshots of the whole project so you can return to an earlier stage. Each version includes a preview, its version number and the time it was made. The history is stored with your School Sounds project.

Open and Use the History

Open Version History

Click the history icon at the far right of the bottom panel.

Choose a version

Use the preview, number and date to find the stage you want. Newest versions appear first.

Restore it

Press Restore and confirm. School Sounds keeps a safety version of your current work before replacing it.

History Controls

Save Version

Create a milestone now, before trying a big change.

Restore

Replace the current tracks and settings with the chosen earlier version.

Delete

Remove a version you no longer need after confirming the choice.

Preview

Use each thumbnail and its details to recognise the right stage before restoring.

Handy Tips!

• Save a milestone: Make a version before trimming a long recording or deleting a track.

• Save the project too: Versions travel with the .sounds project, so save or Quick Save after managing the history.

• Undo or history? Use Undo for a recent edit; use Version History for an earlier state of the whole project.

Common Questions

Will restoring destroy the work I have now?

Before restoring, School Sounds creates a safety version of the current project so you can return to it.

Why is my history missing after starting a new blank project?

History belongs to its project. Open the saved .sounds project to bring its included versions back.

Can I undo a deleted history entry?

No. Deleting a version is permanent, so check the preview and details before confirming.
