What is the Play Tool?

The Play tool is where you listen to your work. Press play to hear a track, or hear all of your tracks together at the same time — like a band playing as one. You can also set how loud each track is and how fast it plays.

Quick Start

Choose the Play tool

Click the green play triangle in the toolbar on the left.

Press Play

Press the play button to start listening. Press it again to pause.

Adjust the sound

Use the volume and speed sliders in the panel at the bottom to change how each track sounds.

Track Controls

Play & Pause
Start or stop listening. The playhead line shows where you are in the track.
Volume Slider
Slide to make a track louder or quieter. Turn one track down to hear the others more clearly.
Speed Slider
Play a track faster or slower. Great for slowing down a tricky part to hear it clearly.
Play Everything Together
When you press play, every track plays at once so you can hear your whole mix.

Handy Tips!

• Listen part by part: Turn one track's volume up and the others down to focus on it.

• Slow it down: Lower the speed to hear exactly what is happening in a track.

• Use the keyboard: Press the space bar to play or pause quickly.

Common Questions

Why can't I hear anything?

Check that your device volume is turned up, and that the track's volume slider isn't all the way down. Make sure a track has been opened or recorded first.

Can I play just one track?

Turn the other tracks' volume down to zero and you will hear only the one you want.

Does changing the speed change the volume?

No. Volume and speed are separate — changing one does not change the other.
